They bleed for a little while and I get funny looks, but the puss NEVER comes back. No real after-effect either, it seems.

I think I will not try this one. This may hurt so much. And I guess this is not advisable. It may cause infection and make your zit into a worse condition.

You'd imagine it hurts, but it really doesn't compared to how much it hurts trying to pop a really stubborn one.

Sterility is an issue, I'll agree.

I've never heard of anyone doing that before...it does sound like it would hurt.  I think I'd rather stick to popping because I think I would gross myself out doing it that way.

Wouldn't that cause some type of scarring?

I'd worry about scarring too. Instead when they are bad like that, I have been known to pop them with a sterile needle. If they've got to go, they've got to go and I would do more damage just mashing away at them with my fingers than a wee little prick.

You can only pick so much before you are just asking for scarring to occur. If it hurts and nothing comes out stop picking. Also where sunscreen. Sun exposure is a huge cause of the scarring if you dont have spf. I use a oil of olay moisturizer everday with and spf15

The only thing is with sun screen that you need to be careful to not use a heavy, oily one or your zits will get so much worse. You also need to be careful to remove it well at the end of the day.

I don't think cutting leads to scarring because you are changing a zit into an open sore. So it scabs over and heals like a cut instead of an old zit.

The battle going on with the acne itself is completely cut away.

I'm trying to picture how you cut them.  Are you cutting the top off, leaving a circular hole?  Or are you cutting in a staight line across the center?   Huh
