I've heard that its just like any other acne wash, but the namebrand seems to make people be more regimental about it and therefore its more effective because they follow the directions. I've never tried the stuff though.

Proactive has one active ingrediant, benzoyl dioxide, as a few percent of the total volume.  I have used it and it is mildly effective.  *However* you can skip the three bottle bisiness and high proce by going to the pharmacy and getting a 10% benzoyl dioxide creme.  You apply this and leave it one, at leat once a day.  I found this to me at least twice as effective, much easier, and a fraction of the price.

Ya know I gotta say. My wife had proactive like i said earlier. Ive been using the renewing cleanser that she left in the shower. I beleive its just benzoy peroxide but its a littel gritty. I have to say my face has been more clear as of lately. Just throwing it out there.

Yes proactiv works and it works FAST. I tried it for about a week and saw a big difference in my face. I just bought two packages at ebay the other day.

I have never used Proactiv, my sister has though and absolutely swears by it.  She never had horrible acne but went through a phase and I did notice a difference.

Ya I've seen the ads for it. It's alright.

They sometimes have product demos at the mall.

Never tried it.

I tried Proactive.  It worked at first, but then stopped being effective over time.  Plus the woman that does my facials says it is very drying and when people stop using it, they have big breakouts.

Same as the others. Proactiv worked for me at the start but now it has become ineffective. I guess my acne has built up a resistance to it. I'm trying something else at the moment and will see how it goes.

Welcome, Marysue.  Thanks for the feedback on your use of Proactive.  It's great that people can share their experiences here and help each other out.
